Redondo Beach, CA (PRWEB) April 10, 2008
The Latino Speakers Bureau announced that the independent documentary film “The Motivator: The Business of Selling Hope”, will premiere on April 24th at the Rincon International Film Festival in Rincon, Puerto Rico.
For this film, motivational speaker Victor Antonio G. and filmmaker Dan Perez teamed up for a “behind the scenes” look at the business of professional speaking and overcoming adversity.
“The Motivator is a voyeuristic look at the business of professional speaking from the inside”, said Victor Antonio G, who gave documentary filmmaker Dan Perez an unprecedented 24-hour access to what goes on in the life of a professional motivational speaker. In the movie, Victor Antonio travels to a major speaking event all the while sharing his triumphs, defeats and providing an insider’s perspective on the business of professional speaking.
From food stamps to CEO of a multi-million dollar company, Victor Antonio’s story is a story of triumph in the face of adversity. Born near the Cabrini Green housing projects in Chicago to a Puerto Rican family, he explains how he managed to escape the gang violence, drugs and poverty that surrounded him.
Dan Perez also pulls back the curtains and dims the spotlight to reveal the professional costs and personal sacrifices of being a professional speaker. The film’s soundtrack ebbs and flows throughout the film enhancing the power of the message and capturing the shifting emotions of the film.
The film’s soundtrack features an array of eclectic artists which include: DJ Blitzkrieg, Dre Ski, Bill Cruz, Brimstone127, Reverb, Karina Iglesias, Fusik, The Soul’s Release, Justo Saborit, Protoman and Phamous.
“The Motivator is a story about success, about overcoming adversity and the realization of what is possible. It should inspire anyone who dares to break free and follow their entrepreneurial spirit”, says Victor Antonio.
“We are thrilled to see this documentary premiere at this Festival, for as the voices of Latino professional speakers grow in the US market, Victor Antonio G., who is one of the most beloved speakers of our clients, is the prime example of that journey”, notes Leonor McCall-Rodriguez, president of the Latino Speakers Bureau.
Founded in 2002, the Latino Speakers Bureau TM is a California-based corporation representing successful Hispanics and business leaders who are on the International keynote speaker circuit. Every year, its professional speakers travel across the U.S. and around the globe to host corporate and non-profit seminars, and address conferences and audiences with their message of inspiration, business expertise and diversity.

I was given four terms, “The Jungles” “Cabrini Green” “Hunters Point” and “The 5th Ward” and it was my job to find the common elements between them. It was obvious that these were all poor, low income housing areas that were home to some of the most violent projects in America. After more exploration, I found another common theme…genetrification. Gentrification is defined as: 1. The buying and renovation of houses and stores in deteriorated urban neighborhoods by upper- or middle-income families or individuals, thus improving property values but often displacing low-income families and small businesses. 2. The restoration and upgrading of deteriorated urban property by middle-class or affluent people, often resulting in displacement of lower-income people.

A critical look at how the authorities handled the nuclear crisis and Tsunami relief by an American who volunteered in the clean-up. Surviving Japan is a documentary by volunteer and director Chris Noland. It is in short, a documentary of the devastating events in Japan and the after-math that followed. The documentary shows the humanitarian and aid crisis that faced the people in the wake of both natural and nuclear disaster. It features true stories from those affected by the disaster, the government and even TEPCO. It highlights the struggle in dealing with: The Tsunami clean-up, lack of Government response to the disaster, radiation plus the future of nuclear power after the accident, a possible Cover-up of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear disaster, and an uncooperative Government that dismisses legitimate health concerns while providing the citizens with little to no information about the effects the disaster would have on their future. “The continuance of using such finite energy resources will only produce limited results for a limited number, leaving the rest of the world out of the equation.” – C.
